Fiscal Responsibility

New Prague Area Schools is under ongoing budget pressure because enrollment is shrinking and state aid follows the students. This fall, the kindergarten class is about 115 students smaller than the senior class. The board has to plan today for that smaller future class—not last year’s headcount.

Raise Standards

In New Prague, almost 47% of our students are not meeting state standards for reading. The board has not spent any meaningful time on academic performance during my term that was not mandated by law.
